Organic chocolate has had a reputation for being ‘rough’ when compared to other chocolates. Recently newer organic bars have been getting smoother, and now this great offering from Devaux comes the closest yet to the great chocolates. Maybe this is helped by being relatively low in cocoa content, but at 55% it still seems much less sweet than higher percentage bars, and not in the least bit sickly. The chocolate has a strong orange or tangerine flavour, developing into a more robust baked cinnamon but still with citrus notes. Length is acceptable, though has a slightly sour stage. Looks slightly crystalline. A great stride forward for organic chocolate.
