I’ll tip my hat to Feodora for creating a nice looking bar; well-glossed and even in mold, yet the blackish purple color does seem ominous. Aroma is nice, too, gleaming with blackberries and a cozy strength that bodes well for the flavor.
Bitterness, however, welcomes the senses very aggressively, while the flavor by contrast is muddled and faint, mirroring Hachez slightly (but just marginally stronger). Blackberries are strong while vanilla lies low, and the chocolatiness is at best decent but as stated repressed and anemic. There’s definitely a sense of withheld strength, or more reasonably, contained strength since the bitterness is certainly a problem that was not controlled successfully.
“”Milde Edel-Bitter-Chocolade”" is a paradox of sorts: while the mildness certainly is present, the bitterness tags along for the ride as well and results in a chiding contrast of extremes that does not result in a palatable bar. The texture, too, falls short and melts like a candle; it’s an oddball consistency that deserves a wick rather than a foil wrapper.
