Duffy's Formula 1 challenge - 2011

April 8, 2011

Malaysia Grand Prix 2011

Second race of the season and the big question is how the new Pirelli tyres will perform in hot temperatures – from the cool of Melbourne to the extreme of Kuala Lumpur, one of the hottest tracks of the season.

Heat is not the only issue though, this could be the first race of the season affected by rain. Look out for excitement, surprises and perhaps the first real test of this season’s cars.

  1. Oops just realised that it is my first pick and that I have to do it before qualifying. Vettal slow in practice but that should change when it matters. They don’t want to run KERS because it eats tyres and so does their car anyway. Head says Vettel heart says…..Jenson Button. Tyre strategy, and realising when they are about to cost you 2 seconds a lap. Madness, I know, but I have chocolate to spare!

  2. On the other hand Mark Webber is saying it would be a ‘no brainer’ to not use KERS, or maybe that’s old news. Well, forecast is for rain, Hamilton and Alonso are the specialists, but Ferrari don’t look in the running for now. So, again, it’s Hamilton for me. I wonder if either of us will bag our first win of the season?
