	<description><![CDATA[<p>Well, there weren't exactly any Japanese explorers exploiting South America of its cacao crops either ;) But anyway, chocolate's popularity is growing quite steadily in Japan. Many Japanese chocolatiers, such as Hironobu Tsujiguchi (Le Chocolat de H), are producing chocolate that rivals the best of Europe's. There are many more, but I'd have to pool together all my sources first.</p>

i didn't find out a whole lot from my japanese friend other than that japanese don't have the affinity we do to chocolate in her opinion. she says it's due to the fact that japan is warmer than germany for instance.</p>
