everyone say> bandwagon!

just found something new to try. expensive as it is (13.75 eur for 150g), i decided to by a bar. the whole thing sounds a bit strange to me though. i searched the web for more info, because i wanted to know which beans are used, though i suspected forastero. in none of the articles i found (see below) is the bean mentioned. it's just some "ancient original bean" kind of thing. bunch of bs if you ask me.
the guy says they've gone and found a bean so old that it predates hybridization. yeah right! the portugese apparently brought it to sao thome in 1820 (so i guess forastero). reeaaaally ancient!
i guess 'old' beats good any time, eh?

here are some links:

some people seem to be getting all excited over this so-so cocoa. sorry for being so negative, but stuff like this just irritates me. especially when you pay and it's not worth a third (or even less) of the price. the taste is ok. has too many nibs in it to really give any accurate description. will say more when i've had a bit more.
