<p>Off topic here, but could you please tell me where to find this pastry shop? I'm going to Bergen in a couple of weeks, and that will be my only chance to buy chocolate in a real shop between christmas and, like, June... Any other places that sell anything of interest would also be appriciated! [:)]</p>

Welcome back, you're still top ten poster. I like your vertical tasting. I wish you could have tasted Ampamakia 2002. I remember it as a sensation when it came. Much better than 2003. Very fruity with a long after taste.</p>

<p>Ok. Vertical. I have some "mature" chocolate in my closet. I like chocolate, but I don't eat much at the time. So when I was in Bergen and visited one of my former collegues who has opened a pastry shop/cafe, I got to talk about and buy som chocolate. In addition to som delicious truffles, I bought the 2006 Vintage Valrhonas. Back home I found some Ampamakia from 2003, 2004 and 2005. So I thought, "why not do a vertical tasting of these vintages?"</p>
<p>Ampamakia 2003<br />
Not as fruity as I remembered it was some years ago. And not the acidty I expected. The colour is very good despite the expiry date nov. 2004. No bitterness. Good dark chocolaty aftertaste, but a little short. I seems to have "dried out". Fading. Eat up.</p>
<p>Ampamakia 2004<br />
More fruit and acid. Citrus and red berries. The tartness stays all the way trough the aftertaste. Longer. The best of these four vintages.</p>
<p>Ampamakia 2005<br />
Less fruity and tart than 2004. More full body chocolaty. The citrus comes in after a while. Long aftertaste. Not as typical Madagaskar as the others.</p>
<p>Ampamakia 2006<br />
On opening there was a strong aroma of mould/earth, almost like El Rey. On a retaste today, it is almost gone. Tart red berries and tangerine. Fine balance between the fruity and the chocolaty. Not as powerfull as 2005. Good. Mmm.. I'll take one more bite.</p>
