I think perhaps it might be a good idea to start a new forum of non-chocolate threads instead of having just a single thread. That way, different topics could be discussed and easily documented, searched, etc. in the same manner that the other threads and forums are. Granted, this forum should not be the main one, but I think it would be fun to have one where we could talk about many topics, such as, oh say, our hobbies, other foods, etc. I think we'll all get to know each other a bit more too.

ok, i think i am getting the hang of this.
but removing a part of a post and creating a new one leaves unattractive posts: the quotes have a smaller font and the original post is left only as a link, lots of flotsam and jetsam.
and a post that has been moved can no longer be edited by the original poster.

Well, the chat should have non-chocolate related discussions just so that people will have a place to post any random tid bit of anything. Granted, it shouldn't be the main forum, but it could simply be an outlet to post other thoughts and comments.

the 'chat' could also be a kind of 'meet the members' with introductions and things like favorites and hobbies and all sorts of things off the main subject. of course it shouldn't overshadow the chocolate...

i haven't had these problems, mainly because i am a slow starter in moderating. but i do agree. when u erase something a message should appear asking whether you are sure about erasing.

similar thing happened to me: i wrote a long post and accidentally hit "reset form" instead of preview...
is there any backup?

and how do i tweak a thread and move a part to another forum. lone mentioned that a part of the green and blacks discussion belongs in sources. what do i do? still learning...

I have a couple of other suggestions: The only "truffle" category is now under "reviews", and quite obviously there are truffle issues raised here which has little to do with reviews. What about one "truffle" category - both for reviews, discussions, news and questions?

The other suggestion is to create a 'literature' category. The reason is that I am currently reading a new Norwegian book about chocolate - kind of No Logo-style - very eager to speak against some of the statements. (The author says "chocolate is not chocolate" in the very first sentence of the book (I think), but keep on criticising as if all chocolates were candy bars made by African
slaves.) Besides, I'd love to read others' reviews of choco stuff.

A third thing: For the second time now I have accidentally deleted someone else's reply because I have mixed the icon with the 'reply with quote'-button. I have no excuse, but the explanation is probably that I have been incredibly busy for some weeks now, and even when I made an effort checking in advance I did it again (the second time). I know I should better stay away when absent-minded ... The thing is though that all I want for Christmas is some kind of an extra filter or warning or to simply have the icons for editing moved to the right end of the icon row (right before or after the trash can) ... Can the software provider make my wish come true?

Chocolate is cheaper than therapy and you don't need an appointment.

Have we started yet? ;-) Well, I think we need a new category, a resdiual category, "Anything else" or something like that - for the chatty posts.
