	<description><![CDATA[<p>Make a 1:100 dilution, and use that dilution to flavor your chocolate.  That is, put 1 part essential oil into 99 parts cocoa butter. You may have to play with the ratio, but that's essentially (pun very much intended) what I do when working with very strong essential oils. I've had dilutions as much as 1:1000, depending on the strength of the essential oil..</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>Pure essential oils should be handled very carefully, some are not edible at all, but pure oils are not that readily available and quite expensive. They are normally diluted in more neutral "base" oils, like almond oil. You would regularily find the oils sold already as a mix in some base oil.</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>thanks for the help everyone. i will look up rococochocolates. I agree, I should use the oils very sparingly. last weekend, i made my own whipped cream and put one drop of essential oil in it, and it was very strong. I wonder if there is  way of diluting the essentil oils, so as to not be so strong. perhaps in something like, alchohol. any thoughts?</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>Whether or not a chocolatier realizes it, he is using essential oils in flavored chocolates, but it's usually at an extreme minimum. Essential oils are "essentially" the flavorful material of herbs and spices and are stockpiled in specialized oil storage cells or in glands on the surfaces of leaves. By weight, spices are 5-15% essential oils, while herbs are a meager 1%. So, when you use an herb or spice, the amount of essential oils is very low, but the flavor is still very strong, which therefore implies a very strong flavor of the oil. In other words, a little goes a long way! And the essential oils available in those little glass bottles are the very essence of the plant and are very concentrated and potent. It's similar to corn and corn oil. Corn has a measurable amount of fat, which when extracted from the grain, can produce corn oil. The amount of oil may be meager in an ear of corn, but it's quite hefty in a 10 gallon jug!</p>
