My name is Dan and I am the manager of Sheridans Cheesemongers in Dublin. We have recently become distributors of Domori in Ireland and stock a large range in all three of our shops. Our range includes
Apurimac, Sur Del Lago, Arriba, Porcelana, Puertomar, Puertofino, Chili, Latte Sal, Absolute, Blend No 1, Hot Chocolate, Cocoa and Puro. We also stock some Valrhona, and Irish chocolates by Skelligs and Danucci.

In terms of chocolate in Dublin, you can get Michel Cluizel in Terroirs in Donnybrook, Amadei in places like Donnybrook Fair, McCabes in Blackrock, Avoca in Suffolk St. Fallon and Byrne in Exchequer St stock Pralus, and Valrhona is fairly widely available, albeit with a wide variation in price. Personally I am not nuts for Amadei, it is shockingly expensive for the likes of their Porcelana (12.50), but Michel Cluizel is very good. The Domori stuff is also superb, as is some, but by no means all the Valrhona range. Guanaja is probably the best of the standard bars. In the upper range Palmira and Ampamakia are infinitely superior to Gran Couva.

Great to hear you can supply quality chocolate here in Ireland. I've looked at your site, and the range of producers seems pretty good. I shall contact you shortly with regard to details. Thank's again for you response. These forums really do work!

I just joined because I wanted to reply to this particular question. The chocolate Shop, The English Market, Cork, (www.chocolate.ie) 021-4254448 (phone) is a specialist chocolate shop selling the largest selection of the world's premium chocolate in Ireland. I own the shop with my husband Niall, but it's true; we're unique in Ireland. If you like the standard of Valrhona, Cluizel, Rococo, Cafe Tasse,Cote D'or, good fair trade and the best of the Irish, you've come to the right place& we do mail order.

Hi, Everyone,

I am a brand new member of this forum community and have tried every type of fine dark chocolate I can find in Ireland. Unfortunately, that doesn't amount to many! I have just ordered my first chocolate from seventypercent, so am not totally deprived, but I would like to also be able to buy the odd bar here locally. Anyone out there got any sources for fine chocolate in Ireland?

Cheers.

I don't know if this helps, but there's a fairly new company operating out of Scotland called Kshocolat. Here's their web-site:

http://www.kshocolat.com

They produce various bars and confections using couverture they have specifically blended. I talked to the director not too long ago, and they're just now trying to expand to a larger market outside of Scotland.
