BTW, according to the website, Pierre Marcolini has bought the exclusive rights to purchase all the Crillo bean production in Mexico. Apparantly, the crop is harvested only every seventh year, hence the price tag of £8 a bar. Expensive, but great to try the best on offer ever now and again.

Marcolini's porcelana is interesting - very spicy, a strong hint of coriander(?), slightly grainy. A taste of its own - but too spicy for my personal taste buds.

My name is Polarbear and I am a chocoholic...

The shop in Kensington is wondrous, a real joy to experience. Do visit the new salon in the US if you can.

Last night I ate a square of the Marcoloni Porcelana I bought in London Choclate Week, which was excellent, though I found it much less smooth than the Domori, my all-time favourite.

This is unbelievably good news. I've been a fan of Marcolini's ever since buying his chocolate in Brussels a few years back. Has it opened yet?

I know this doesn't apply to most people here, but to us Americans, December 2004 will be quite a joyous month because Marcolini will be opening a boutique in NY (I just received an E-mail from Marcolini sales). I'm assuming mail order will be possible.
