I just went out to get a fold-out map of Berlin! I'm gonna mark all of these on it with my fat red marker!! If the Estrellas is in the area I'm visiting i'd make sure to pop in. Oh, it's soo exciting. But my not-so-in-to-chocolate partner is gonna suffer, poor thing...!! Thanks for the tips guys. I knew I can depend on this forum members!

hm, i don't really hold leysieffer in such high esteem. if you have the time, stop by and pick up a bar of theirs. preferably a kuba. they're better known for their pralines.

i can really highly recommend that visit to in't veld. really cool looking store and full of chocolate life. nice atmosphere, the prices are good too. the cafe next door is so-so.

The owner of Estrellas Chocolaterie, Esther Kurtz, creates her chocolates such as perfums using only the finest ingredients. No artificial flavors added.
I think this "boring" shop is worth a visit.

Another option is Leysieffer Confiserie with a few shops in Berlin. Alex can tell you more.

I saw that picture too, which is perhaps the only indication that one is viewing a web-site about chocolate.

Ellie, I think you're evaluating this a little too much [;)] Clearly, the majority of average consumers isn't going to share the same viewpoint as you. People don't want to guess what they're buying or what product this company has to offer. If I were an average Tom, Dick, or Harry, I would feel as if they were trying to hide something, perhaps inferior products behind a dazzling display of web-works. Therefore, it could be viewed as a lure to sucker you into visiting their shop. If they truly wanted to poke fun at the business, they could find another way to do so rather than potentially shy people away from their own company by offering viewers with that sort of choppy presentation.

Site design is magical and absolutely uninformative. It's a change from all the stuff you see, and i appreciate the humor, and look at it as a point, if one's not aiming to sell on-line. The problem i see is the image - slightly old New Age, spiritual and poetic world of private jokes and literaturian witisism. Decadent, all in smoke and never very clean. How close is chocolate?
Just wonder now how the shop looks like, actually.

I found that web-site to be extremely uninformative and annoyingly user-unfriendly. Sure, the graphics and design are nice, but you're essentially presented with a large constellation map without guidance as to which subsection each constellation is. After randomly clicking on images and reading various poetic blurbs, I gave up out of frustration. Maybe I am missing something, but please explain how this relates to chocolate:

"100% Penguin-approved
The Penguin - Glacial survivor most efficient energy
storing system : depot in mantle layers to provision
growing-up prevent nervous breakdowns.
Survives in ice-cold environments"

Perhaps a very indirect reference to chocolate storage?

And I'd try to fit in all the others too. I just love visiting chocolate shops (also patisseries). My eyes twinkle like a child's...
Thanks guys.
