Hi Everyone,

I was doing some web-surfing the other day and came across the Ecole Chocolat school:

http://ecolechocolat.com/chocolatier-school.htm

They offer an on-line chocolate making course which sounded a little unusual given how tricky chocolate can be to work with and the need to usually watch someone else do it.

I was wondering if anyone had heard of this school before or if they had used it?

Hi Gap,
I’m wondering the same thing since this afternoon I handed over my money to do the course!! Apparently two people from Melbourne will be doing the next course, starting on April 12th – not you is it?
Cheers,
Rozzi (Adelaidian)

Hi Rozzi,

not me but I am very interested to see how you find the course. Maybe you could post a few thoughts as you progress through it?

Hi there,

I did the ecole chocolat course and thought it was very thorough and really comprehensive. It also helps you think and plan setting up your own business in chocolate. The course sets exercises for you to practice with chocolate and you can do this in your own time and report back on the results. This allows you to get to know how to work with the chocolate and to practice in your own time.

Good luck – enjoy the course.

Hi Bala,
Thanks for your reply – ( you too Gap!) I just had a look at your website earlier – it looks fantastic! Congratulations! Do you hand-dip everything? I have done that today for the first time and I have to say, it isn’t easy is it?!?!
Regards, Rozzi

Hi Rozzi,

I used to hand dip everything and you are right – it isn’t easy! I have just recently started using moulds and piping the filling in. It is much quicker and the tempered chocolate lasts longer.

I am contemplating taking the Quality Assurance program. Has anyone taken this course from Ecole?
