Can someone confirm something for me? Is it true that small manufacturers are generally exempt from putting the govt. nutrition label on their products? They only have to put the list of ingredients, correct?

Yes. You’re correct. But some county health departments may require more, so check with your local health department.

My understanding is that different countries and even states within countries have different legislation. As dvdman says above, best to check with your local health department.
