I need to buy some recipe costing software, and they are all quite expensive (apart from the bog – standard excel based freebies). I want something that will calculate margins, is complex enough to update margins for all recipes when I input new cost prices and has the capability to transfer stock count data and sales into the mix. Most of the systems I’ve seen are US based, and although that’s not intrinsically a problem, it may be awkward in terms of help line access etc. Can anyone recommend a reliable, intuitive system which doesn’t cost the earth, and preferably doesn’t have a yearly license fee.
Thanks.

Gracie,

Have you checked Shop n' Cook Pro http://www.shopncook.com/pro.html? It's $100, cross platform, and can handle the pricing and margins, I'm just not sure about the stock and sales, but the developer is quite responsive and has added features that I've requested in the past. It's not a super beautiful interface since it's in Java, but it definitely works.
