Why don’t we just meet in the middle? Right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, that is, hehe .

Maybe we could find out which chocolate to enjoy together with a glas of Black Death.

I was going to suggest Iceland myself. I was there once when I was ten years old. Really nice place.

I’m coming to London Monday evening and will bring a digital camera with me. I’m covering Chocolate Week and will write an article for the Swedish Academy of Chocolate (Chokladakademien). If I’m lucky a few pictures can be published on my website so you can tell who’s who in the forum. I also will try to attend the Gala night on Thursday 7 October.

Masur, great initiative, but I prefer not to have my picture published simply because the internet is open for everyone – the good ones and the bad ones and those in between …

I know you’ll survive, Alex ;-) If anybody not going to London is dying to have my picture – email me …

It’s not that chocolates are a substitute for love. Love is a substitute for chocolate. Chocolate is, let’s face it, far more reliable than a man.

I was thinking of a restrected area (with password) and without revealing our real names. Another way is to create a PDF-file with pictures to be shared between members at this forum. This is not a big issue for me so maybe we could find a suitable solution later on.

Password protection could be an idea, yes. See you in London anyway :-)

I have a pic on the computer as well. If anyone wants it, feel free to ask. There should be a section on the member profile where we can add pics if we want.

Before I put this year’s Chocolate Week section to bed (i.e. move it to the end), I wanted to say thanks to those forum members who made it to some of our events during the Week (and to the rest of you who I’m sure were there in spirit!)

It was great to spend some time with you, especially when we were all together at the Gala night. I really felt this helped build up our community and it was as a pleasure to meet with fellow obsessives and talk the talk.

Chocolate Week next year is a long way off, and I thought it would be great if we could try and arrange another meeting in the not to distant future. We don’t have to coordinate it with any particular event, and it need not be in the UK. If it could fit in with a time when any of our US members might be in Europe, all the better.

Post here if you think this could be a good idea, and then I’ll start another thread about where and when and how. Even if it would have to be a long time ahead, it would be good to start thinking about it now.

fine idea! i think the uk (or even iceland :-) would be a good location. it’s kind of in between the us and europe. i have been thinking about planing a trip to the chocolate week next year, but a seventypercent event would interest me more to be truthful.
if it turns out that munich is the place i would not be sad either. and i could offer about two people a place to stay.
time is no problem as long as i know enough in advance.

other suggestion: nyc

I’m going to find myself in italy and switzerland this summer (10 year wedding anniversary). Certainly wouldn’t expect anyone to schedule anything around me, but if you happen to find yourselves doing this around that time in that area, I wouldn’t mind popping in to say ‘ello
