October 16th – 24th

During the third week of October, Perugia will turn into chocolate city for the 11th edition of the Eurochocolate event. Many events will be taking place such as: the election of a “ChocoMayor”, chocolate shows, tastings and samples, and much much more, to promote the knowledge of chocolate. Anyone with a sweet tooth, a love for chocolate, or just looking for a good time should not miss this show!.

Can you please post some more info here? I checked out the site, but no English information available. From the few pages I looked at nothing indicates that the big names will be present – which, honestly, make me suspicious that the chocolate in question does not hold the quality I (we) expect.

The ‘orginal’ European chocolate festival was started i Perugia 1993.
Chantal Coadys ‘The Chocolate Companion’ won the Chocolate ‘Oscar’ Award for Best Chocolate Book from the Eurochocolate Festival in Perugia. If I remember right you can she writes about the festival in her book ‘Real Chocolate’ were you also can find a few recepies from her dear friend Paul DeBondt. Paul DeBondt is a masterchocolatier living in Tuscany and he has appeared on the festival, sharing his skills. This is a worldfamous festival appreciated among chocolatier and others all over the World. Eurochocolate today has spread to other Italian citys.

Nice event , Just a shame about the Euro phrase .
I would hate to support the Euro expression , I am opposed to European Union . Any one else with views on the EU project ?

Maybe you are opposed to the EU, but many are totally supporters of the European Dream.

Enjoy the freedom of being European!

i don’t understand the problem with the name. calling something euro or european does not automatically mean support for the EU.
aside from that i don’t find that a forum dedicated to fine chocolate is the right place for such discussion, regardless of opinion.

I agree Alex. Eurochocolate is just a name on a website. Lets continue talk about chocolate.
