I have recently started producing moulded chocolate bars with a variety of toppings, on a small scale to compliment my range of hand made chocolate truffles. I am only a very small scale producer, marketing at country shows & festivals, and with a small (but growing!) number of private customers.
I’m having a problem with packaging for these bars. I want to package in cellophane to show off the bars, but all the bags I can find are gusseted, which isn’t really ideal. I have thought about cellophane bags used by greeting card producers, but I think they would be too thin.
Does anyone know where I can source plain flat cellophane bags, strong enough for chocolate bars?

I have a chocolate shop near me(east Dulwich, london) that pakages it’s own bars. It put a lable on the front, obviously, but if my memory serves me they are clear. I’ll see if i can ask her when i walk past tonight and if i think the info might be of use i’ll let you know.
What sort of truffles/couv do you make/use? if i may ask. Sounds interesting

Thanks for your interest. I use Callebaut couverture. I make brandy, rum, amaretto & coffee truffles with jusy fresh cream, chocolate & alcohol. They’re very popular!

Hi,
Have you tried Keylink?
They sell packaging – white bar wrappers and also cellophane bags to fit the bars.
Not cheap!

Thanks Bala – I’ve tried Keylink (already get quite a lot of stuff from them), but all their bags are gusseted or designed to stand up when full. I’m using these at the moment, but they’re not quite right.

Thanks Michael. I’ve had moulds from The Home Chocolate Factory so I’ll certainly look out for the new bags as soon as they’re available.

Hi,
still haven’t managed to meet the owner of the shop to ask about wrapping, sorry they always seem to be in the Warehouse/kitchen which is else where. If i do catch them i’ll let you know.
