In a tasting of 34 brands of dark chocolate, conducted by the German gourmet magazine "Savoir Vivre", Biona Dark Chocolate (71% cocoa content) won first prize. We now supply this chocolate to the UK market. We hope Martin will be reviewing it soon!

It's quite good, somewhat dark and "mocca-ish", but not a particular complex or rich taste - somewhat like a flat Pronatec...

Hi Lucy,

Is it possible to get a sample of the chocolate and some more info ? We may be interested in stocking it.

The chocolate is made by Vivani - http://www.vivani.de, and won the award under this brand. Lucy, you should take a few more of their organic products like the Winter Schockolade and the milk and white with bubbles.

Ah, looking at their site they now have an 85%, an Arriba dark and milk and a bar with black green tea - see http://www.vivani.de/P_Tafeln_e.html .

Now, is Vivani on our list of bar producers who actually make from the bean???

Thanks for this Martin.

The Green Tea sounds interesting! Unfortunately getting distribution is not that easy for us . . . someone called Green & Blacks seems to have conquered the market!

Cheers

Lucy

Parent company Ludwig Weinrich is listed as a bean to bar producer.

Well, I must admit that there are many chocs that reside above it in my preference list...

It looks like Ludwig Weinrich provides the chocolate to several companies, inclusing Vivani, Gepa, and even Porta who produces those horrid filled bars.
