I have heard about new bars as well. But it seems to be a new range, like chacao. It is called Kamba. It includes a blend 70%, a 100%, a white and milk (just look http://www.mannis-laden.de for pictures).

Hmm, pictures would help. I don’t know why Domori would label this allegedly new line as “Kamba” since Kamba already is the designation for their line of “energy bars.” The Kamba bars are:
Guarana – 40% milk chocolate with five grains and guarana
Ginger – 40% milk chocolate with candied ginger and puffed rice
I just scrolled through the entire selection, and it appears that only the 70% has a picture. Interesting. Perhaps Domori is just expanding this line and advertising it as “energy” or “health” chocolate.

Sorry, you are right. Only one picture. Look http://www.q.uintessenz.de/shop.php?main=1&sub=12 for all pictures.

The 70% chili bar is part of the Chateau line. The packaging differs due to copyright infringements. This was discussed recently here:

Thanks Marioh. These new bars look interesting. According to the descriptions for the Kamba 100%, Domori has sources in Dominican Republic? That’s pretty interesting.

They have sources in the Dominican Republic. The beans for the Chacao-Line bars are from the Dominican Republic as well. But your are right, I’m very interested as well. Especially the Blend 70 seems really worth a try.

ellie, you might be talking about the Peperoncino that has only got 60% and is part of Domori’s 75g product line.

Yes, that’s right, Marioh. I forgot all about that. I remember reading about the Dominican Republic plantations on the Chacao site. Also, if I recall correctly, Domori has plantations in Honduras.

Just got samples of the new Kamba bars, and I have to say pretty impressive! These are 100g bars that will sell for a very moderate price, but the chocolate is still up to standard. The 70% is quite typical Domori, but very accessible and munchable. The milk with vanilla is like eating ice cream! A LOT of vanilla, but it does work.
The white with liquorice is certainly an experience – quite strange at first, but once you get used to it, inspired.
The 100% is not so different from the 75 line Puro, and doesn’t excite me much.

i’ve tried the white bar and think it’s a good white chocolate. interesting how it takes a while for the licorice to evolve and then it is just a hint.
just found out that i can get my hands on the blend 70 here and am going to rush out later for some. so you say it is a good bar, martin? that’s great news!

whew! just bought two bars of blend 70 from the friendly folk at q.uintessenz. my first impression? well, a crisp snap it has and it is much drier and less creamy than any other domori i know. slow to melt and the texture is more el rey-like. prominent taste of peanuts, which i love. nice blend and good eat, but not comparable to other domori stuff, by which i mean i miss the waxiness. intense taste that lasts. strange though, seems to be a headache chocolate. i sometime get headaches from chocolates and this is one of those rare occasions. at least i think it’s from the chocolate…

Strange you only got a hint of liquorice in the white … we found it very intense! Confusing at first, but then the liquourice really comes through. Mmm, interesting about the headache, was this about the amount you ate? ;)

marioh, remember the white kamba we shared: how did the licorice hit u? slow and subtle or stronger as in martin’s experience?
monte, blend70 states: cocoa mass, cocoa butter, cane sugar. the other bars i don’t know…

Ah, so no vanilla or lecithin? Even in the white bar? That was my main concern. Thanks.

liquirizia: cane sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, licorice (2.5%), soy lecithin

Alex, I remember the white kamba just as you do. The liquorice was subtle and not as strong as I as afraid it would be. It was just right, giving a little new taste to a white chocolate, but it wasn’t to strong so that you just taste liquorice. But that may vary from bar to bar, just as all Domori bars do, right?

seems to be the case, mario. i just opened my second blend 70 and it is a tad bit creamier than the last and a bit less peanutty and more flowery.
