Has anyone else been to Mary’s Chocolatier in Brussels? When I went there two years ago, the most exciting chocolate I’d ever had was a bar of Green & Blacks. I was brave enough to buy some 100%, and it was smooth, voluptuous and silky smooth, a fabulous sensory experience. I’ve tried some other 100% bars since, like Domiori Puro, but have found them harsh in comparison.

Mary’s has a website, and has offered to ship me some bars, but the postage is prohibitive. Still, if any of you are ever in Belgium, it’s well worth a visit.

Hi Elektra,

Thanks for that. Do you know what the website is? Please post it here if you do! I imagine that Mary’s don’t make their own chocolate, that it is bought in couverture, but it would be great to take a look!

cheers.

Martin,

I wouldn’t be surprised, the smell as you walk in the shop is just amazing. The website is http://www.marychoc.com and is well worth a look. The chocolates certainly come within the specifications demanded by most of us, ie fresh and without artificial additives. It specialises in handmade truffles, which don’t interest me at all, only the strong, dark stuff does it for me.

Anyone out there planning a trip to Brussels?
