Has anybody ever seen those chocolate cakes and desserts covered in a jet BLACK chocoates sauce? Is the color altered by food coloring, or is it the combination of ingredients?

It’s likely made with black cocoa powder, a very, very highly alkalized powder. So much that it doesn’t retain any chocolate character any longer.
