Sure it is :-) I wouldn’t recommend anyone to subscribe to this topic – or off-topic.

ok, people, as of now polar, green and i are enlightened. this is due to the fact that we do not have televisions (at least that’s what we say. sneaky, eh? ;)
therefore green and polar will now be referred to as ‘o enlightened one’ and i myself, because i am not only not in possession of one television but 2 or 3 sets, am to be referred to as ‘o more enlightened enlightened one’ (plus i am moderator, so there ;)

to show proper respect you must roll on the floor and laugh when you address us in this manner.
oh! and: throw away your television if you want to join in. just make sure no one gets hurt.
our theme song is appropriately “throw away your television” by the red hot chili peppers.

i hope no one sees an ounce of seriousness in this lest we end up on some list of obscure sects.

I have been without a TV for about four years. Now that we have got one, I hardly see anything. I can recommend the book Amusing ourselves to death from 1985 by Neil Postman. He critisizes many aspects of television in USA. Reed also 1984 by George Orwell and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

I agree, Brave New World is quite frightening (it’s the only of these I’ve read).

Not looking so much is not enough, but if you promise to throw it away you could get a prospect staus, as “O’ may be not wandering along in the complete darkness any longer One”.

so, we have now determined that polar is a madman because he conducts imaginary orchestras in the ‘privacy’ of his own living room. what do your neighbors have to say to all the noise that the orchestra makes?

i guess ellie and I qualify as veritably insane as well for solitary dancing. me with an imaginary tango partner, she with spinning chocolate bars ;)
what’s left to be desired?

but hey! i like this kind of madness. call me crazy, but yeah!

Last year, Masur, LoneLy and I were at the Chocolate Week. Nice to meet people face to face as well. I hope to be there this year too, but I am not sure. Maybe I will go to Sweden to the Chokladfestivalen in stead.

The Chocolate Festival in Stockholm called “Chokladfestivalen” will run from Thursday October 6th until Sunday October 9th. Why not visit both festivals Legodude like I’m planning to do?
I might also go to Paris and visit Saloon Du Chocolate (22nd – 25th October).

Last year the Swedish Academy of Chocolate (Chokladakademien) ended the year with aorund 1200 members from different parts of Sweden.
On my website you can find pictures from a few festivals:

I’ve not been in the right mood to finalize the coverage from London Chocolate Week 2004. Once this has been done I will create a new topic in forum “Chocolate Week 2004 (UK), 4 – 10 October”. Later on I will write a summary in english from the recent chocolate festival in Linköping.

Masur, have you attended the Salon du Chocolat in Paris before?
Is it worth checking out. I might be moving to the north of Norway, and the tickets will be more expensive than from Bergen, where I live now.

A Swedish lady living in Paris is a famous chocolate lover. She inspired me to try dark chocolate nearly 10 years ago. I met her at the chocolate festival in Linköping. Although I don’t speak French she convinced me I should visit Salon Du Chocolate in Paris.
I’ve never bin there but you can read more at their website.

I’m not ready to take that step yet. It’s too early to tell about my experiencies in that forum. I will take me a few weeks from now until I “officially” can share this. Hope you’ll understand.
