The drying of my cacao pod seems to work. It’s getting darker and darker each day and looses weight. At the moment I’m very confident that I can conserve the pod. Thanks again for your pieces of advice.

The cacao pod is completely dried now. It looks quite dark brown, but that’s ok. It’s nice to have a cacao pod on your desk. Thanks again for that drying tip!

We’ve got a nice Malagasy criollo here (mostly what you can buy are forastero from Africa), which has now shrunk to about a third of its original size and changed colour from a yellow / orange with flecks of green to dark red brown.

My pod looses a lot of weight but it is still quite the same since as before. The colours faded out (they where really nice before, red, orange and yellow). It is a bit smaller, but it hasn’t shrunk to a third at all. Quite funny how different your experiences are. In the shop the told me, that the pod comes from Colombia. I’m not able to give an experts opinion, but I believe that it is a forastero.
