Maybe women are just more open about it, and men are embarrassed about liking something sensual? Perhaps that's also why men tend to gravitate to the more 'serious' end of the market - strong dark chocolate.
It would be interesting to see some consumption figures (I will try and find some), but I have a feeling they will be equal between the sexes.
Most of the confectionary industry marketing is aimed at getting kids hooked to their products early, and that seems fairly gender non-specific.
