I think that this article is looking for extremes just as the articles promoting the health benefits are looking for opposite extremes. Either way, the author said that you’ll get the most benefits from dark chocolate as did the other readings. How can this person write so passionately about the affects of chocolate on humans, and then bring up the affects on animals in a single line near the end?

Interesting point. When we are passionate about chocolate (any subject for that matter) we must be prepared to “listen” to all the arguments to get a balanced view.

Well, that seems just as researched as the articles promoting health benefits, and I almost trust this one more because the ones promoting the benefits cite studies funded by Mars Inc. Some things we’ll never know. They’re saying that recent findings say that chocolate is a heart healthy food, while ancient cultures supposedly ate it for the heart benefits. I’ve found that they tended to be right about a lot of the spices and herbs for medicine. Either way, I don’t eat the stuff for health reasons, I eat it because it’s diverse and tastes good. Besides, I don’t eat enough chocolate to cause me any real problems and I also eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables that counter the saturated fat. I’m weird, my favorite foods are fruits, vegetables, and chocolate. Hah.

Yes all things in modertion. I tend to agree that you get a balance if you eat plenty F&V as well. My problem with chocolate is that I cannot get the really good stuff. Best I’ve eaten thus far is Black & Greens Organic and the Lindt varieties. Must seek out better stuff or shop in bulk on line, only problem when you have lots of chocolate you tend to eat more of it.
