Meat in Puertomar? Well, this one has a distinct buttermilk tone underscored by cherries, so perhaps this is your “meat?” Domori has a dairy flavor in a lot oftheir bars, so this might be the “meat,” as well.

Yes, distinct red, raw meat. I didn’t note much fruit in any of the Domori bars. The blue cheese taste is way too dominant.

Interesting. I find that fresh raw meat has an iron-like aroma similar to butter actually. Should be no surprise really since cattle feed on grass, and good quality butter should reflect the quality of the grass. Likewise, meat flavor reflects quality of the food the animal has been eating, so it’s no surprise that such similarities exsit. The bleu cheese is quite nice, actually. I think Porcelana (both Amedei and Domori) has a distinct cheese flavor mainly in the finish.

Hello fellow chocofriends!
I’ve been lurking for quite awhile and felt it a good time to poke my head in and say hello. I’m just finishing up another order from Chocosphere with many of the recommendations I’ve seen on this forum. Domori blend #1 has moved to the top of my list of favorites. I also love the El Rey Apamate. last night’s treat was found at my local Whole Foods Market… A Dagoba Lavender. I have a couple favorites for smaller chocolatiers. My first and foremost favorite is:http://www.hauserchocolates.com. I keep an eye on:http://edp.org/chocguid.htm to see what’s up as well. Tonight’s treat is a Shaman Chocolate dark chocolate bar:http://www.shamanchocolates.com/. Looking forward to more suggestions and loving all the ones you gave out so far!
