Stenciled chocolate cookie recipe

Stenciling of Chocolate Cookies is still considered the best and prettiest way to decorate and most appropriate for the occasion like Christmas.


  • 3 (200 ml) cups all-purpose flour, we should take an additional cup of sugar to the surface
  • 1 1/4 (200 ml) cup  cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • ½ (200 ml) cup well grounded cinnamon
  • Salt as per your taste
  • 3 sticks butter (unsalted)
  • 2 1/2 (200 ml) cups sugar (confectioner)
  • 2 large eggs ( lightly beaten up)
  • 1 medium sized teaspoon vanilla (extract)
  • And Royal Icing


How to prepare

First STEP = mixture 1

Take a large bowl and in that we will take flour, cocoa powder, well grounded cinnamon, and also some salt and mix it well.

Second STEP

Along with mixture 1, add butter and also sugar and beat it nicely with the mixer on a medium speed until the mixture turns pale and fluffy. Now add two eggs and extracted vanilla. In a minimum speed add the flour mixture by beating to combine all together. Divide dough into 2 halves, and will wrap it with plastic wrap and allow it to cool for 1 hour in refrigerator.

Third STEP

First heat the oven to 3500C. Secondly we will flour the surface and over that we will roll out the dough about 1/8 inches thick. Using cookie cutter we will cut the cookies in a preferred shape and transfer it to the baking sheets. Now we will refrigerate it until gets firm.


Fourth STEP

Bake until it becomes crisp. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack, and allow it to cool fully.

Fifth STEP

Make stencils by punching preferred shape out of thick paper with the help of craft punch. By holding the stencil over the Cookie, and should brush icing in a thin layer where its exposed using paintbrush (safe for food). With stencil in its place, gently apply sugar over the cookie and with the sieve evenly coat the exposed area.  Allow it dry completely
Thus the Stenciled chocolate cookie is ready to add the charm of festival.
