I was surprised to see this in Shopper's Drug Mart, along with some other percentages (a 42, 52 and 85, if I remember correctly). I found a lot to like about this bar.
First, the price: 4 bucks! Hey, I'm poor! 😉
First impressions - it's a beautiful bar, the front is like a mirror (despite me dropping it a few times in the store) and color is a rich dark terracotta. The aroma is pleasant, but not particularly assertive. And the snap is very, very crisp.
I really like the flavor too - it has a soft acidity that reminds me of strawberries. There's almost no bitterness and a mild earthy chocolate flavor. This is heresy, I know, but it reminds me of Chuao - though without anything approaching the bold punch of Chuao.
My main criticism is the melt. It's slow (even allowing for the cooler ambient temperature) and a bit crumbly. Still, I enjoyed chewing it down. It lingers on the back of the palate with a pleasant warmth.
Definitely worth the money.

Ok, I don't know it I was starved for choc last time, or what. With my pleasant memories of the first bar, I picked up another one in the mall today.
But today, I'm finding the chocolate melting in my mouth to be very dry and kind of grainy. It's bothering me slightly. I am slightly dehydrated today, now that I think about it (I haven't had anything to drink all day), so maybe it's just me.
