Actually, ethyl m’s was purchased by mars early last year. Prior to masterfoods acquisition, they were based in the western US.

Yeah, they have a one-page feature in the recent Chocolatier, and are touted as an affordable luxury. But then again, so is Leonidas, and at $22/lb, the bargain of quality AND quantity surely justifies the sweeter nature of the product, especially when compared to the likes of Godiva.

There is a Godiva outlet at West Edmonton Mall, Alberta, Canada. I thought I would try some and they are terrible. Very disappointed.
