I could be interested, Alex. But maybe not in all the rest. If we split in 2×4 and 3×4, I am in for any of the two. But as you say, the 70 and 80 are probably the most interesting.. What is the price, by the way?

OfflineI would be interested as well. But I do not know whether it is available at the moment. I have heard from the german Domori Distributer that the boxes will came back at the beginning of autuum. But that’s of course quite a long time. I have searched the interent etc but haven’t found any canoabo at the moment. Perhaps anyone of you heard about any source? But I just though about asking my local Domori retailer (which has fair prices) whether they know more details and if they can get it what price it will be (the price is an importened point as well, isn’t it?). But alex, maybe you can do the same at q.uintessenz. 69.90 € is a better price then I have seen in other shops (but quite far away from the 60€ I pay for the Ocumare 67 from In’t Veld).

OfflineWhat does it meen? Are they able to get a box, or do they only try (and didn’t get one)? But I guess they do not know by now if they can get one, right?
I’m not sure. I first thought about taking two layers, but it might be better to take only one. But finally that really dependes on how many bars you both want to have. What about asking another one if he is interessted. I just knew someone how probably would take one layer (I have to ask before, of course, and I’m not sure whether he really takes some bars). But perhaps I don’t have to ask. As I sayed that depends on your wishes.
I hope we will be sucsessfull. I can hardly wait to taste the Canoabo.

Offlinethey don’t know here whether they can get it because they’ve never ordered it before. it all depends on whether the german distributor (wilk) has any. if they do, i guess anyone who sells domori can get their hands on it like u say.
i’m mainly interested in trying it at least once. but i’ve got time…

OfflineI was afraid that this might happen. I just had the feeling that Wilk (for all who do not know: the German Domori distributor) just told me more or less what you have now written. But that’s not as bad as it sounds. We will have the chance to taste it, but it will last a little longer than we had expected. But finally we just connected for this “co-operation” and that’s a very good beginning. And June/July isn’t that far away, isn’t it?

OfflineOh, I do not feel that I can wait until the end of the year, but waiting a little longer than expected will be no problem. On the other hand you are right, I’m really interested in the Guasare as well. I have heard fantasic comments on it. But let’s see and taste yourselfs when we will have the chance (which I really hope I will have)!

OfflineGuasare is a genetically pure strain of Criollo, and as far as I know, there hasn’t been any pure Guasare chocolate bars to date. Domori, however, is working on this and will plan to release a Hacienda San Jose Guasare box eventually. It was first “discovered” growing near the River Guasare in Zulia State, Venezuela where a sole farmer was growing some on his 16 hectare plantation. However, agronomists believe that it has Andean origins, but it simply was carried northward. Guasare samples have been collected from this plantation and then replanted close to Merida in an agricultural experimental station. From what I understand it has done extremely well here, which shows that it can adapt fairly well to different environments.

Offlinewell, from what i’ve read it’s genetically close to porcelana. correct me if i’m wrong, monte.
tastewise it’s supposed to be more complex and intense than porcelana. at least that’s what m. presilla says in her book. don’t ask me how she knows the difference in taste if there are no chocolates made from guasare. maybe she’s just compared the beans

OfflineSince a Guasare chocolate bar doesn’t exist yet (or at least for domestic sale), no one knows yet. And if you recall correctly, alex, Porcelana isn’t complex or intense to begin with, but I can understand the comparison, especially since both are genetically pure strains of Criollo. If anyone is interested in a similar chocolate to Porcelana, then I recommend Maracaibo cacao, which although possesses a different flavor, has a finesse and delicacy comparable to Porcelana.
