Is there any store that sells these European chocolates in Canada? Or even in Vancouver, BC, Canada where I'm near? Any other Canadians here?

I am in Calgary but I deal with some of the import/pastry suppliers. Try contacting Lentia Foods, and also Qualifirst Foods to see who would be carrying Cluizel, Valrhona, etc.. I plan on opening a shop within the next 6 weeks and I will also have an internet store so that Canadians have access to all these delightful chocolates.

Coppeneur chocolate of Germany is now selling online through their new North American web store. It's based in Calgary, Alberta. We ship across Canada and the U.S.

Hi.

Choklat (www.SoChoklat.com) is a new shop in Calgary Alberta, and is the only shop in all of Western Canada that actually makes our own chocolate on site, right from cocoa beans.

Choklat also makes truffles to order, right while you wait, out of fresh buttercream centers, and, of course, our own chocolate!

I would welcome anyone to bring in a bar of what they consider to be good chocolate, and compare it head to head with ours!

Best Regards,
Brad Churchill

Hello,
I currently purchase Fair Trade Certified Chocolate from Cocoa Camino which is LeSiembra Co-op.

Does anyone else know as a Wholesaler that sells slabs or calets of Fair Trade chocolate in Canada or the USA.

Thank you

Don't be fooled by "Fair Trade" as it comes with many definitions. There is no one in Canada who is making bean to bar that is producing a quality product. DC Duby in Vancouver area will be producing bean to bar soon and I would give a thumbs up to them. They "know" what they are doing!!
I should expand on Fair Trade. An example is the Dominican Republic. There is a family plantation that produces 40% of the beans in the Dominican. They are paid higher than fair trade and are a successful profitable farming operation. Because they do well financially, they cannot be considered "fair trade". Their cocoa beans are of exceptional quality, and the best beans they produce are snapped up by Valrhona, etc..
If anyone (Canadians) are after quality chocolate, I would suggest ordering from Amano or Askinosie or Patric.
