Alex, do you remember the homepage I listed in the forum for the pictures of the Kamba bars? Just guess where the shop is. Adress: Feinkost QuintEssenz, Kölner Platz 8 (U Scheidplatz), Munich (look http://www.q.uintessenz.de/kontakt.php). They have really fair prices for Domori and, best of all, all Kamba bars.

ohmigod! mario, you must be kidding! i always came across the name ‘köln’ and never realized it was a square in munich and not the city itself.
of course i know this shop but didn’t think it worth mentioning because they never had much domori or other chocolates in the past. they have expanded immensely. i must go there today!
very sorry i didn’t mention this to u while u were here :-/

just got back from q.uintessenz. nice folk! good selection of chocolate (and wine and coffee and pasta), specially domori. the price is right 2! so if in town checking the choc this is a place to visit.

i forgot to mention: while some shops are upping domori prices others are staying straight. maybe it’s due to location/competition, but i’ve heard say that the increase is being passed on directly from domori.
doesn’t really make sense though, especially when i have a look at domori’s site and see that their prices haven’t gone up in the past year.

Yeah, but then again, have you seen them update their site at all in the past year? [;)]

5 euro seems to be a fair price. Regrettably I will miss this chocolate tasting.

That price seems awfully cheap. Are reservations required? It seems like they’re trying to attract as many people as they can. This makes me question the intent and integrity of such a tasting.

If the shop want to attract new customers, it’s a greate idea to let people try the different brands in the shop. I missed it was around 40 different chocolates for 5 euro and that’s wery cheep. One drawback might be that they will use your e-mail address to promote their shop.

yes, 5 euros is very cheap and i think their intention is to attract customers with their variety. if it were for integrity they’d leave out the zotter and dolfin bars i’d say. i think coffee (espresso) and wine might be a part of the package, but am not really sure about that, though they’ve got to serve something to cleanse the palate.
reservation is necessary. i hope they crack a box of domori’s san jose – which they’ve apparently done before to sell the four percentages separately. i’ll tell you about the tasting afterwards.

Coffee or wine as a palate “cleanser?” Wow, that’s a huge mistake. Dolfin’s 70% and 88% would be good candidates for the tasting, though; not their flavored bars.

true. but, like i said, it’s probably not going to be a regular tasting. they’re probably thinking more along the lines of what chocolate might taste good to what wine/coffee. but i’m not sure.

so, saturday is the ‘big’ day and i get to do a little talk and answer questions. i feel as if all my chocolate knowledge has slowly seeped away over the last few months. so, keep your fingers crossed that i get it all right.

Best of luck, Alex! I’m sure your knowledge will shine. Don’t seduce all with Domori, please, it’ll disappear ;)
