A couple of shops have opened and others have closed since I last updated here. Pretty much any European chocolate can be had now in Munich though unfortunately Pralus is not to be found since Amelie closed a few years ago.
I wish we had more access to American chocolates since great things are being done in the states. If anyone feels like an informal exchange, I’d be willing to send some things across the Atlantic. But I think you can get most anything in the US now. I’ve had the chance to try DeVries’ bars (many, many thanks, Steve!), some Theo, Amano and Guittard, when visiting the states over the years. I’m curious about Rogue and Patric and Tcho as well…
Anyway, the new stores here:
- Chokoin, on Nordendstrasse. Fair selection though a bit too much on the stylish side for my taste (that’s Munich).
- Goldbraun, on Schellingstrasse. Small shop, small selection, very friendly folk. They sell chocolate (the braun) alongside their own jewelry (the gold).
