I have been a member here for a couple of years, but this is my first post.

On a recent trip to SF, I managed to make it to several stores. However, the two best shops I went to are Fog City News and Coca Bella. Both are right off Market St., and the staffs are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about fine chocolate bars. Aloha

Those are two very nice stores to visit. If you are ever looking for a great chocolatier in San Francisco then try Recchiuti Confections in the Ferry Building…

Actually, I went to Recchiuti several times, and tried many of their offerings. No offense to anyone, but I found their chocolates to be rather bland. I gave one of their double mochas to someone who is not terribly fond of coffee, and she could barely taste anything. I believe the words used were ‘weak’ and ‘uneventful’. Again this is just our opinions.

Also, I tried some of Cluizel’s chocolates at Cocoa Bella. I love Cluizel’s bars, but, in my opinion, his chocolates were underwhelming, as well.
