I’ve got a suggestion, but I don’t know whether it’s a good one: Is it possible to create a quiz page (test yourself? multiple choice), faq and/or myths and facts about chocolate and the making of chocolate? I’ve heard I’m not the only one who’d prefer informative bullet points before reading longer articles. I guess it’s also easier accessible for those who haven’t become real geeks yet. I imagine that short answers to simple questions about how the cocoa beans are treated, name of different sorts, what comes the different flavors from when the bar is all natural etc. would have been great.

How about, we make a definitive fine chocolate FAQ. I’ve got lots of ambitions to do stuff like this, but it’s hard to find the time to do it all (the same applies to the glossary, but I do have someone working on that.) Maybe if we all chipped in we could come up with something?

There is something like this on alt.food.chocolate (see http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?q=chocolate&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=food/chocolate/faq_1082200966%40rtfm.mit.edu&rnum=1) but it is quite general.

I’d be happy to host it within seventypercent, but it could be kind of an ‘open source’, public document, credited to the forum.

Any thoughts anyone?

Great idea! The rec.food.chocolate FAQ (and the newsgroup itself) have been fairly disappointing, while this forum seems to have attracted a number of people who have pretty strong background (or at least lots of opinions).

You might look into using a Wiki ([url]http://c2.com/cgi/wiki[/url]). That would let many people edit it, while ensuring that random bozos don’t delete useful content. If you haven’t already seen it, Wikipedia ([url]http://www.wikipedia.org/[/url]) is one of the most popular and successful examples of what it can do.
