Seventypercent.com's online retail business is continuing to grow and expand. As we increasingly specialise in dark chocolate bars from leading and new artisanal chocolate makers, we believe we have the opportunity to become the definitive online supplier of origin chocolate in the UK and Europe. However our challenge now is to expand in a managed way, building on our current customer base and increasing our capacity - including moving to new distribution premises - while maintaining our current high standards of customer services.
Seventypercent.com is looking for one or more genuinely passionate fine chocolate enthusiasts to join us and help us to meet this challenge. As we are still building the business, the role initially may be part time with remuneration to be discussed - applicants should be aware a salary will become available as a result of their contribution to the company. We are not so much looking for employees as enthusiasts who want to take advantage of this opportunity to build a central role for themselves in the future of the company.
The opportunity might well suit someone looking for a change of career and able to take a chance, or someone with time on their hands or looking to get back to work, however we are open to discuss possibilities with all interested parties.
We are looking for individuals who can contribute in terms of organisational and / or business analysis skills, and also have excellent personal skills. Experience with retail or marketing is an advantage, as is the ability to work independently as well as within a team. Although we are mainly looking for organisational / analysis skills – the ability to manage a situation and see the 'bigger picture', the successful applicants must also be prepared to take a 'hands on' approach to the day to day running of the business and have an eye for detail.

While the retail arm of Seventypercent.com develops as a business, helping to fund the upkeep of the website, the other areas of the site are in need of development. Increasingly we see Seventypercent as an 'open' resource and want to build on the strong sense of community already built up in our forum. To this end we welcome contributions and features from all those interested, and subject to editorial oversight will publish articles on a wide range of topics with varying points of view.
So please do get in touch if you would like to contribute. Both private and commercial contributors are welcome - don't be afraid to promote your shop or project as your activities and your approach will often be of interest to our readers. As well as articles, we'll also be launching more community features this year, including more blogs, user bar reviews, interactive glossary contributions and others - your ideas are welcome, this is your site!

As Seventypercent grows as a community based website, we need to implement and maintain many new software packages such as content management and blog software. It's becoming increasingly difficult for our editorial team to devote time to selecting and setting up this kind of software, so we would very much welcome any contributions from fine chocolate enthusiast programmers or technicians who would be willing to donate their time to help with this part of the project. This would be a good chance to exercise technical skills in a good showcase website, while of course helping to spread the word about fine chocolate.
